Tommy Haas Tennis News

Tommy Haas hopes to revive his glory days after taking a wild card into the Erste Bank Open in Vienna from Monday. The two-time champion ranked 467th, won the title at the Stadthalle in 2001 and 2013. He also played the final in 2000.

“I’ve won twice in Vienna and therefore obviously very fond memories of this tournament,” said Haas. “The upgrade to a 500 series event makes it even more attractive for players and fans.” The winner of 15 ATP titles has spent this season since a mid-year return trying to regain form after shoulder surgery.

The field is headed by Spain’s David Ferrer, Canadian Milos Ranic and South African Kevin Anderson, a trio of top 10 ;players. Also included: American John Isner, France’s Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Gael Monfils and home hope Dominic Thiem.
