Sixth seed Jennifer Brady (in photo) upset top seed Romina Oprandi Saturday afternoon in the singles semifinals of the $25,000 USTA Pro Circuit women’s tennis tournament in Rock Hill, SC.

Brady, 20, took the match 6-4 6-3 to claim a spot in the singles finals of the seventh annual Rock Hill Rocks Open.  She will face Andrea Gamiz of Venezuela, who defeated Ulrikke Eikeri of Norway 6-2 6-4.

A Pennsylvania native, Brady trained at the Evert Tennis Academy in Florida and played two years for the UCLA Bruins.  She has won one singles title on the Pro Circuit, a $25,000 event in Redding, CA, in 2014.

The singles finals will be held Sunday at the Rock Hill Tennis Center immediately after the doubles finals.

The doubles event begins at 11 am, and features top seed Elitsa Kostova of Bulgaria and Florencia Molinero of Argentina against Ema Burgic Bucko of Boznia-Herzegovina and Renata Zarazua of Mexico.
