TEAM8 will partner with the young American junior prospect and Roland Garros junior champion Tommy Paul for management, representation and marketing services.

Paul just reached the finals of this year’’s US Open junior event, falling to Taylor Fritz, who has also turned pro. Paul, 18, won Roland Garros over the other Americans Michael Mmoh and Fritz.

Tony Godsick, President and CEO of TEAM8, also manages Roger Federer, Juan Martin Del Potro and Grigor Dimitrov.

Paul qualified at the main draw at the US Open, losing to the No. 30 Andreas Seppi, who had upset Federer at the 2015 Australian Open. This season, he won titles at Spain and Italy on the ITF Futures.

“TEAM8 is going to continue to be very selective with whom we chose to partner.  Tommy is not only a very talented and athletic tennis player, he is also an outstanding young man with a very bright future on the global tennis stage,”” said Godsick.

Godsick, one of the biggest agents, left the International Management Group (IMG) in 2013 when he had worked there for almost 20 years.

The 44-year-old Godsick also has worked with his now wife Mary Joe Fernandez, and one of his close friends, Lindsay Davenport. Fernandez reached Grand Slam finals and Davenport won three majors. Both are now broadcasting.

Godsick also was the agent with Monica Seles, Anna Kournikova, Tommy Haas and  Daniela Hantuchova.

This is the first time that he has hired a teenager in TEAM8 with Paul.
