Sharapova Out Of Stanford With Hip Injury

The Bank of the West Classic at Stanford was hit with a major withdrawal when top seed and attraction Maria Sharapova pulled out with a left hip injury. Sharapova injured her hip after falling in her second round loss to Michelle Larcher de Brito at Wimbledon.



Instead Of Vacationing, Federer Is Playing

Normally at this time of year, with little more than a week passed since the climax of Wimbledon, Roger Federer is to be found on a yacht sailing around the Maldives or some other grandiose holiday retreat. But this year Federer has literally been shocked back into action and is this week playing the Bet-at-Home Open on the red clay of Hamburg’s famed Rothenbaum before moving onto his homeland next week for the Credit Agricole Suisse Open in Gstaad.



Murray Expects To Play IPTL

Wimbledon champion Andy Murray is set to be one of the prized assets of the International Premier Tennis League, set to be staged in Asia and the Middle East beginning December 2014, the Scot has laid down the proviso that if playing the competition compromises his close season training then he will not play.



Hogstedt Won’t Be Coaching Wozniacki Any Time Soon

A coaching arrangement between Caroline Wozniacki and Maria Sharapova’s recently dismissed coach Thomas Hogstedt is not imminent, Daily Tennis has learned. In fact, Wozniacki’s representatives are saying that the former No. 1 has no plans to change coaches and time soon despite comments issued by her father Piotr last spring that he wants to step down. Wozniacki's representatives say that there are no concrete plans for that to happen.



Western & Southern Open Announces Standout Field

The Western & Southern Open announced the strongest lineup in the tournament’s 114-year history featuring the top 44 ranked men and 35 of the top 36 ranked women competing for more than $6 million in prize money.

The Digital Media Coordinator will lead all organizational efforts concerning social media.
