British Baroness Targets LTA again

Long-standing critic British Baroness Billingham has launched another salvo at the LTA, this time in Britain's House of Lords. She called on Sports Minister Hugh Robertson to order an inquiry.

 

Federer Says He Doesn’t Count Ranking Points

Roger Federer can't be worried about counting ranking points after overhauling Rafael Nadal for second on the ATP list and working to make a move on Novak Djokovic over a frantic few upcoming months in the game.

"I stopped counting points a long time ago. It just consumes more energy."

 

 

Williams Doesn’t Mind Playing Early in the Day

Serena Williams went from a late night to a much earlier start as the Rome Masters produces its usual scheduling surprises for player. After beating Nadia Petrova 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 to reach the third round the weekend Madrid champion admitted she doesn’t mind so much when she plays.

"It was a quick turnaround. When I saw the schedule, I said – Oh my God – are you serious. That's life. You just have to be able to adjust and make the best of it and so I was really happy to come through today."

 

McEnroe Tennis Academy Names Kleger Director

The John McEnroe Tennis Academy (JMTA) named New York native Lawrence Kleger as its new Director of Tennis. Kleger, a 25-year coaching veteran, has been the Executive Director of Tennis at Sportime Clubs since 1998, and an Assistant Academy Director at JMTA since September 2011. He was hand-picked by John McEnroe for the position.
