- Halep's win-loss record in finals now stands at 6-3.

- Halep is the second Romanian to win six or more WTA titles, after Ruzici, who won 12.
- Halep finishes 2013 with a 53-17 win-loss record; only S.Williams (78) and A.Radwanska (56) have won more matches.

- Halep has won her past three matches against Stosur to level their head-to-head record at 3-3.

- Stosur falls to 5-14 in WTA finals; she was also runner-up to Halep in her previous final appearance, in Moscow last month.

- Halep and Stosur are projected to rise to No.11 and No.18 respectively when next week's rankings are released.

Final Quotes

Simona Halep: "I really wanted to win this tournament, so I'm just happy! It has been a great tournament for me. I want to thank everyone who came to support me this week, they helped me a lot. I also want to thank my team, my friends and my family, and of course Ilie Nastase who came to support me!"

Samantha Stosur:
"Congrats to Simona on playing a great final. She's a very good player – she got me a couple weeks ago in Moscow, and again it was very hard today – but I'm happy with the week I had. Now I'll take a break and then think about next season in a few weeks when I start training again."
