Federer Says Players Must Submit To Blood Tests

The debate over whether Victor Troicki received a raw deal from the ITF and Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) when he was suspended for 12 months for failing to take a blood test took a new turn on Thursday when ATP Players’ Council chief Roger Federer weighed in more on the side of anti-doping authorities.

Federer Thinks There Is Less Testing This Year

Roger Federer isn’t about to hop on the ‘Viktor Troicki is unfortunate’ bandwagon and instead of sympathizing with the Serb for being banned from tennis for a year after a misunderstanding over the taking of a drugs test, maintains rules are there for a reason and tennis needs to be even more vigilant on anti-doping matters.

ITF Official Disputes Federer’s Comments On Drug Testing Numbers

Roger Federer's suggestion that anti-doping tests are on the decline was heartily disputed to German agency dpa by the ITF's drug-testing boss Stuart Miller, who said the Swiss has been the subject of numerous controls.

Despite two wins out of two in the round robin group stage, the Majorcan endangered his continued presence at the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals by lacerating a finger.

Brisbane Gets Two More Stars

Australian Open 2013 junior champion Nick Kyrgios and world No.17 Kei Nishikori of Japan will play at the Brisbane International 2014. 18-year-old Kyrgios from Canberra is the first wildcard to be announced for the 2014 tournament.
