Becker: Djokovic Wants To Overtake Nadal And
Becker knows all about being left behind on tour. The former No. 1 was
at the top of his class from 1985-1991 when he won five of his six Grand
Slam titles, but then he was eventually surpassed by the likes of Pete
Sampras, Jim Courier and Andre Agassi.
Federer Downplays Christmas For Australian Open Preparation

the Spanish veteran announcing a split after a decade and a half with
longtime mentor Javier Piles. The ATP No. 3 will fly to Abu Dhabi for a
match this Thursday with Stanislas Wawrinka at the three-day exhibition
under the guidance of Jose Altur.
Laver Wants Tomic To Get
great Rod Laver believes that Australian young gun Bernard Tomic needs
to make a New Year’s resolution to work a lot harder if he's to advance
his stalled career. Tomic will start 2014 ranked 51st, one spot lower
than he ended a year ago and faces major pressure from the start as he
defends his only career title in early January in Sydney.
Wolfenson Passes Away
Wolfenson, 87, of Minneapolis, passed away Saturday at his winter home
in La Jolla, California.
Wolfenson and his long-time partner Harvey
Ratner, were investors in the Minneapolis real estate market in the
1960s and 70s before finding developing indoor tennis clubs were to
their liking. Before long the pair had 100,000 members in the indoor
health/tennis clubs, known as the Northwest Clubs.
