Dimitrov Prepares For Davis Cup Vs. Greece

Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov has paused in his training for a Davis Cup zonal tie at the weekend as Bulgaria faces Greece to offer some advice to aspiring tennis players as he trained in Sofia after playing the Miami Masters.

 

Germany Is Gearing Up For Fed Cup Tie With Australia

Germany's top two women are expected to make the long haul from European clay to Brisbane for a Fed Cup date at mid-month against Australia. No. 7 Angelique Kerber and Wimbledon finalist Sabine Lisicki, who won the Miami doubles title with retired Martina Hingis, will travel down for the Easter weekend tie, Australian officials understand.

 

Kirilenko Returns To The Tour And Loses In Charleston

Maria Kirilenko returned to the tour at Charleston after five months sidelined with a knee injury, losing 6-1, 7-5 to Belinda Bencic.

"The first match back is always tough, but I thought it was going to be worse today. I don't think I looked too bad," said Kirilenko.

 

Dolgopolov Has More On His Mind Than Tennis

For the likes of leading tennis players like Roger Federer, Stanislas Wawrinka and Andy Murray this week means serving their country in the Davis Cup’s World Group. But for Alexandr Dolgopolov patriotism will mean a little bit more over the next few days.

Dolgopolov flew home to Kiev after losing in Miami but before he left, he felt compelled to produce a video from film footage and interviews taken in Acapulco last month calling for peace to be restored on the bloody streets of Kiev. His film included messages from Murray, Djokovic and Nadal.

 

Mother Murray Could Be Headed To TV Series

There could just be a spot waiting on Britain's wildly popular Strictly Come Dancing television dance competition for Judy Murray if the national Fed Cup coach agrees to stretch her legs into the entertainment field.
