Andy Murray missed the draw ceremony this morning before the Italy v Great Britain Davis Cup World Group quarterfinal in Naples because he was suffering from an upset stomach.

The setting may be idyllic for Italy’s Davis Cup tie against Great Britain in Naples with the court and grandstands close to the gently lapping Mediterranean and the seating collared to depict the two national flags. 

However the atmosphere is likely to be inhospitable to the visitors and the competition’s partisan rule – which decrees the host country can be penalized if spectators are interrupting or influencing the tennis – may well come into play.
