Rosie Casals/Pancho Gonzalez Tennis Center To Be Built In Los Angeles

California State University, Los Angeles will break ground on the future site of the Rosie Casals/Pancho Gonzalez Tennis Center at the Billie Jean King Sports Complex on May 6, from 10 a.m. to noon. This is one of several events to mark the investiture of William A. Covino as Cal State L.A.’s seventh president.

The 7,000-foot-center is named in honor of tennis legends Rosie Casals and Richard “Pancho” Gonzalez.

Molik Trying To Rally Her Troops Before Fed Cup Action

Australian captain Alicia Molik is trying to create some excitement around the weekend Fed Cup tie against Germany in Brisbane, with the former player asking her team to reach for the sky. The Australians won the competition four decades ago and last played a semi-final in 1993.

 

Radwanska, Halep, Pereira And Sharipova Win Fed Cup Heart Awards

The ITF has announced the first four winners of the 2014 Fed Cup Heart Award.

Poland’s Agnieszka Radwanska claims her second career Heart Award for her performance in the World Group and World Group II first round category, while the Zone Group I winners are Romania’s Simona Halep,  Brazil’s Teliana Pereira and Uzbekistan’s Sabina Sharipova. The Fed Cup by BNP Paribas ties took place in February.

 

Monfils Is Frustrated With His Monte Carlo Performance

Gael Monfils expressed frustration with his lackluster record at Monte Carlo, saying he "loses to the same player every year" at the event.

The Frenchman fell in the second round to Pablo Carreno Busta.

One of the most prestigious clubs in North Carolina with 1,500 members, 2 facilities totaling 14 courts, 11 outdoor clay courts and 3 indoor hard courts, is seeking a dynamic high energy creative Teaching Professional.  Recent collegiate and tournament playing experience is needed in addition to a minimum 2 years of full time club experience teaching juniors of all levels and women’s competitive teams.

Looking for an innovative and motivated professional who is willing to help develop, organize and teach women’s competitive teams, junior programs (of all levels from 10-under to tournament juniors) in addition to teaching private lessons. The program consists of 130 women team tennis players, 60 men players and over 100 junior players.  There is a teaching staff totaling 3 full time professionals that all work together and report to the Tennis Director.  All 3 pros also help organize and run social and special events.

This is a chance to receive the education and experience needed to become a future Tennis Director. Excellent opportunity for a professional to be under a Director who has placed numerous individuals in Directors positions across the country.

Compensation includes: above average base salary and commission on lessons and clinics.  $60,000-$70,000 potential earnings.
