Bouchard To Skip Washington

Eugenie Bouchard has not hit a competitive ball in anger since the end of the Wimbledon final three weeks ago tomorrow but clearly she still doesn’t feel sufficiently rested or properly prepared to take starring billing at the Citi Open in Washington DC next week.

 

After Resting, Wawrinka Will Play Toronto

Stan Wawrinka will spring back into action at the Toronto Masters from August 4, with the Swiss confirming that he is rested and ready after a post-Wimbledon pause. "I need to be ready for the last few months of the season," said the world No. 4, who was to have headlined at this week's Swiss Open in the alpine village of Gstaad. "It's a long series and it will be tough for sure. It will be another big challenge. I'm trying to be fit and to everything possible not to be injured."

 Croatian-born Ajla Tomljanovic has decided to switch nationalities and will compete for Australia at the US Open.

Rogers Cup Hall Of Fame To Honor Edberg And Goodwin

Tennis Canada announced that former world No. 1 Stefan Edberg and former Rogers Cup Master of Ceremonies Don Goodwin will be inducted into the Rogers Cup Hall of Fame during the 2014 Rogers Cup presented by National Bank in Toronto in recognition of their contribution to Canada’s premier tennis tournament.

A professional tennis photographer has been shooting for almost 40 years at all the major and minor tennis tournaments for the wires systems, daily newspapers, magazines and advertising agencies. He has been to venues all over the world and has compiled tennis images (archives) of all the professionals and some juniors.  The images have all been preserved in a temperature-controlled environment and are color positives (slides), color and black & white negatives and contact sheets, as well as digital.
